Customers can schedule vehicle services through a WhatsApp chatbot, which automatically creates quotations and service schedules in Odoo. Once a service order is confirmed, workshop tasks are created and mechanics are automatically assigned based on the configured workflow.

The system also manages task timers, employee handovers, WhatsApp notifications, workshop progress, mechanic performance, and monthly commission calculations.

The Challenge

The client needed Odoo to support the actual workflow of a busy automotive workshop, where multiple services may be performed on one vehicle by different mechanics in sequence.

Managing task assignments, monitoring working time, coordinating mechanic handovers, updating customers, and calculating performance based commissions required significant manual effort. The client needed an automated workflow that could connect workshop activities with customer communication and financial processes.

Project Outcome

The completed solution provides an integrated workflow from customer booking to workshop completion and commission processing. Customers can book services through WhatsApp, while service quotations and schedules are automatically created in Odoo.

When work begins, mechanics are automatically assigned to tasks and receive WhatsApp notifications. Customers are also informed when work on their vehicle starts. Mechanics can use links within WhatsApp messages to pause or stop task timers, while the system automatically progresses to the next task and notifies the next assigned employee.

Mechanic performance is evaluated based on task points, completion targets, and custom commission formulas. At the end of each month, calculated commissions are automatically integrated into the accounting workflow, creating a more efficient and transparent workshop management process.

This project involved developing a custom Midtrans payment provider integration for Odoo. The goal was to extend Odoo’s payment capabilities by adding support for Midtrans while preserving the same user experience and technical structure as Odoo’s native payment integrations.

The module integrates directly with Odoo’s existing payment framework, allowing Midtrans to be configured and managed alongside other payment providers within the standard Odoo interface.

The Challenge

Midtrans is not available as a native payment provider in Odoo, while the client required a local payment solution that could work seamlessly with the existing Odoo payment flow.

Rather than creating a separate or disconnected payment process, the integration needed to follow Odoo’s native architecture. This required aligning the module with Odoo’s payment transaction lifecycle, provider configuration, transaction status handling, and callback processing while keeping the implementation clean and maintainable.

Project Outcome

The completed module adds Midtrans as a fully integrated payment provider within Odoo. Transactions follow the standard Odoo payment workflow, while payment processing and transaction updates are handled through the Midtrans integration.

By following Odoo’s native implementation patterns and clean code principles, the module provides a consistent experience for administrators and users while remaining easier to maintain, extend, and adapt to future Odoo developments.
